Mountain Biking

Print
  • The Mammoth Lakes Trail System offers abundant off-pavement biking for riders of all abilities. Conditions range from hard dirt and granite to sand and pumice. In spring, explore the network of cross-country trails to the north and east of town, from the Inyo Craters to Shady Rest. As the days warm up, climb the Mammoth Rock Trail to the Lakes Basin, get the kids on the easy loop around Horseshoe Lake or head for the lift-served Mammoth Mountain Bike Park. For a good cruising descent, try the Mountain View Trail from Minaret Vista to the Earthquake Fault. Off-road biking is prohibited in wilderness areas and national parks.
