09/27/22 Ribbon Cutting for New Lakes Basin Trails + Thank you!
Dear MLTS Friends – It’s been an inspiring summer of stewardship on the Mammoth Lakes Trail System. The positive feedback we’ve received from you about trail conditions and cleanliness has been extremely rewarding. We’ve been working to create a layered stewardship system and it is paying off. The variety of programs implemented by the MLTS and others – Trail Crew, Trail Hosts, Water Hosts, Trail Days Volunteers, Lakes Basin Cleanup, Poo Fairy Stations, Tangle Free Waters, Easter Sierra Adopt-A-Trail - all add up to a new level of care and respect for the lands we all love. We are so grateful to everyone who gave their time and helped out throughout the season! But equally exciting, as this summer of trail work winds to a close we’re happy to announce the official opening of several new trails in the Lakes Basin. The Mammoth Lakes community provided recommendations for these trail developments in the Mammoth Lakes Basin as part of the “Lakes Basin Special Study” and we’ll be celebrating their completion with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, October 5 at 3 p.m.
