Deep in the Ansel Adams Wilderness, this trail connects the Fern Lake Trail, from a junction just below Fern Lake, to the Beck Lakes Trail, offering access to Holcomb, Ashley and Superior Lakes.

This trail can be accessed by the Reds Meadow Shuttle Service at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area Main Lodge Shuttle Stop #6 during the months of May, June, July, August, and the beginning of September. After Shuttle Service stops for the season you may drive down to Reds Meadow and access the trailhead via the Devils Postpile Ranger Station Trailhead.
