From the Duck Pass Trail at the southern end of Skelton Lake, inside the John Muir Wilderness, this short spur trail climbs up-valley to Woods Lake.

This trail is accessed from the Duck Pass Trail which begins at the Coldwater Creek Trailhead. Follow Duck Pass until you reach the Woods Lake Trailhead at Skelton Lake. The trail will wind a quarter of the way around Skelton Lake and then head back toward the Woods Lakes. Please note that this trail follows and crosses over a creek that flows into Skelton Lake and is difficult to find at times. Keep looking ahead for the trail.
