A short walk from stop #7 on the Reds Meadow Shuttle (across the road from Devils Postpile National Monument and adjacent to the Reds Meadow Campground), the Sotcher Lake Loop is a popular and easy 1.5-mile self-guided nature trail, circumnavigating the lake and providing a good, family-friendly introduction to the flora, fauna and geology of the upper San Joaquin. Picnic tables and small sandy beaches provide good spots for rest and relaxation along the way.
