• Following closely along the course of the Minaret Vista - Reds Meadow Road, this short, relatively flat trail crosses the road just north of Starkweather Lake and again at the turnoff to Pumice Flat campground. Going from North to South, the trail descends about 400 feet in about 2 miles, through shaded pine and fir forest with small meadows and occasional glimpses up at the Ritter Range. In the summer season, when the shuttle bus is running, there are multiple options for getting on the bus back to where you started.  This trail has been affected by adverse weather or natural disaster. Repairs have not yet been made and hazardous conditions may exist.
