B Trail - Groomed Snowmobile Trail 4.7 mi

  • The B Trail, part of the Winter Grooming Snowmobile System for over-snow vehicle (OSV) snowmobile use, is a pleasantly undulating winter trail that connects the A Trail with the C and H Trails on the north side of the Mammoth Scenic Loop. Groomed and marked with orange diamonds and intersection signs, the trail winds through the open, old-growth Jeffrey pine forest on the north side of the Mammoth Knolls, then crosses the pavement on the Scenic Loop right at the OSV staging area at the Inyo Craters Road. The B Trail meets the C and H Trails at a three-way junction on the south end of the craters. The Winter Grooming Snowmobile System is groomed by the U.S. Forest Service with funding provided by the California Department of Parks and Recreation, using monies generated by registration fees and gasoline taxes.
