The Horseshoe Lake Loop is a great hike for those looking to venture beyond the multi-use path and get a little farther into the “Great Outdoors.” In less than two miles, this hike combines gently rolling dirt trail with a section of the Lakes Basin Path. Leave behind swimmers, dogs, and beach-goers and enter a more serene world dominated by birdsong and the rustling of wind in massive old-growth pines. Seven different bridges cross babbling brooks and afford occasional views of the lake. On the Lakes Basin Path, be sure to watch out for bikers and other trail users as you make your way back to the parking lot.
