Road Biking the Climber's Tour of Mammoth

Do you have Biking Experiences you'd like to share? Find out How!

  • The Climber’s Tour is a good town-based loop for advanced riders seeking solid uphill climbing with excellent views and a steep downhill return. From Mammoth Creek Park, ride Old Mammoth Road to Main Street. A half block up, turn right after the firehouse and begin the sustained grind up Forest Trail all the way to Lakeview. Spin down Lakeview to Lake Mary Road and begin the long climb up the Lakes Basin Path to Horseshoe Lake. With an optional side trip up to Coldwater Campground, return by way of the downhill switchbacks on Old Mammoth Road. Climbs not steep enough? Try it in the opposite direction.
