The out-and-back hike to TJ Lake from the Lake George day-use area is a nice, relatively short jaunt to a beautiful alpine lake that really speaks to the joys of being in the Lakes Basin. Perfect for a cognitively disabled person, the trail is slightly technical, but not too demanding, and the route is straightforward, well marked and maintained, with connections to Barrett and Emerald lakes. Awe-inspiring views of Red Mountain greet you as you ascend to Barrett Lake along the way. Be sure to snap some pictures of Crystal Crag once you reach TJ Lake.
