Wildflower Viewing

Wildflower Viewing at Coldwater Creek

Do you have Wildflower Viewing Experiences you'd like to share? Find out How!

  • During the wildflower season, a short out-and-back hike up from the Coldwater trailhead will yield up to a dozen species of wildflowers in a grand meandering display of native colors and forms. In most years, wildflower season here lasts about 6 weeks, starting in mid July and tapering off by the end of August. Follow the Emerald Lake trail up along Coldwater Creek to its intersection with the Lake George cutoff trail. Pick your way down to the creek wherever it seems opportune. Bring your wildflower guide! Beware: early in the season, especially along the lower parts of the trail, the creek will be full and raging.
