  • Playing outdoors with your pet is one of life's simple pleasures, and if you follow a few guidelines there's no better place than Mammoth Lakes to indulge. Your pet can join you on all Inyo National Forest and Town trails as long as you have him on a leash 6 feet or shorter or "otherwise restrict its freedom to roam at will." Leashed pets are even welcome on Devils Postpile trails, and, with a muzzle, on town trolleys and shuttles. Popular hangouts include Horseshoe Lake, Reds Lake, Shady Rest and Sherwin Meadows. Please remember to abide by all local regulations and always clean up after your pet!
