Shadow Creek Trail 7.8 mi

  • Deep inside the Ansel Adams Wilderness, this trail comprises a section of the River Trail from Agnew Meadows then crosses the river and climbs steeply up along the course of Shadow Creek to its headwaters at Shadow Lake. From there the trail continues all the way to Cecile Lake at the base of the Minarets.

“This hike to beautiful Shadow Lake is one of the nicest day hikes in the Sierra. From the back side of Shadow Lake you can go a bit farther towards Ediza and Thousand Island Lakes hiking a small section of the John Muir Trail and get your bragging rights.”
