Campground Camping at Coldwater Campground

Do you have Camping Experiences you'd like to share? Find out How!

  • Set in a pine forest between two alpine creeks, Coldwater Campground is one of the largest and most popular campgrounds in the Lakes Basin. At 8,900 feet, the nights can be chilly, ideal for stargazing and gathering around a blazing campfire. By day, access 2 major trailheads into the high country or take a short stroll to Lake Mary or to the Mammoth Consolidated Mine site. Amenities include picnic tables, water, flushable toilets, campfire rings with grills, bear boxes, and garbage removal. Some sites are available first-come, first-served. The rest must be reserved well in advance through recreation.gov.
